all hail

i saw hail! ice hail! woohoo..! not just a few measly ones either. showering down like rain! coming home from placements in Wigan, it felt as if someone was throwing tiny pebbles at my head. mind you, the wind was well nasty today, even killed a man in Wigan. I dunno how, don't ask me, someone heard it over the radio.
Anyway, now i understand when authors say, the wind howls. it truly does. Even the poor crow tried to peck its way into the hospital window in a desperate effort to escape the cold cold wind. I would have grumbled hadn't it been for the ice hail. Now i'm happy skippy. Even saw somemore hail in Manchester.
anyhoo, day went alright. Got to see some routine stuff, some acupuncture, some megapulse work and some ultrasound being done on a man's ass. Nice. Outpatients is fun the first week but i'm betting its gonna get boring after 3 weeks. I definitely have to specialise after 3 years. I don't want to see poor old ladies with back and hip pains for the rest of my life. No way.
TGIF tomorrow. T.G.I.F.

Ecclesiastes 12:1

-Remember your Creator while young-

7. Light is sweet and it pleases the eyes to see the sun.
8. However many years a man may live,
let him enjoy them all.
But let him remember the days of darkness, for they will be many.
Everything to come is meaningless.
9. Be happy, young man, while you are young,
and let your heart give you joy in the days of your youth.
Follow the ways of your heart
and whatever your eyes see,
but know that for all these things,
God will bring you to judgement.
10. So then, banish anxiety from your heart,
and cast off the troubles of your body,
for youth and vigour are meaningless.

Wigan

the trip to Wigan to inspect our placement hospital. no pictures of the hospital though. too clean and disinfected. didn't get that urge to take pictures. anyhoo.....

city centre.

stumbled upon this beautiful, abandoned-looking house tucked away in a small patch of woods. ahh, i wish i lived here. love abandoned feeling, with all the wooden awnings and all...sigh. magical magical.

we decided to tresspass as the wooden arched gate was wide open. snuck up the drive and snapped away. hee. as we were going to pose in front of the huge wooden door, read a sign that said, "Alarm system activated. Tresspassers will be shot". Or something to that effect anyway.

in the city centre. nice small town, wigan is. not too busy but not too quiet either.

Wigan Athletic stadium is somewhere...must go visit sometime.

love the buildings with the black and white theme. so vintage. ahh, culture culture.

cosy little alleyway.

there's always time to pose for the camera.

wigan's shopping mall. nice and clean and sparkly.

sighting

zoe celebrity-sighted whilst attending cell groups in manchester today. there she was, sipping hot chocolate when he passed by the cafe.

guess who she saw?
it was someone big. huge really. really enormous.
He's always on the set for American Idol, The X-Factor, Britain's Got Talent & Pop Idol.
He's quite fat and has got a huge head.
Can't you guess already? Isn't it obvious enough?

why, it was Simon Cowell's bodyguard of course! and the bodyguard had his own bodyguard. wahwahweewah.

hark!

exams are over! herald the holidays! Woohoo! praise HaShem for such a good smooth exam. Brilliant case study, brilliant examiner, brilliant questions...brrrrilliant! Skipped out the exam room like a delirious lamb. anyhoo, thank God...and now we set off for the high seas! We shall set off for Chester, a pretty little Roman village, then we shall watch some nice movies, then we shall go January sale shopping....ah yes. life. embrace freedom!

one and a half more flaming days to go to the final exam. then, its fun fun under the winter sun exploring places! top of the list is to explore castles. then explore a forest. woohaahaahaa...

Wigan first. To check out placement hospital. Wigan's dead boring.
Maybeee, Yorkshire? Heard they have some nice castles over there. the Yorkshire moors is Bronte land!
Warrick has nice castles so me aunt says. Might as well wait for her to take me anyways. =D
Want to go to Cambridge but again, will wait for people to chauffeur me for free.
Decisions...decisions.

Well, mosey back down to try to solve poor Tom's hematoma and get Geri back to walking after a hip arthroplasty. hate Tom and Geri.

Sing a song of celebration Lift up a shout of praise
For the Bridegroom will come
The glorious One
And oh, we will look on His face
We’ll go to a much better place

Dance with all your might
Lift up your hands and clap for joy
The time’s drawing near
When He will appear
And oh, we will stand by His side
A strong, pure, spotless bride

We will dance on the streets that are golden
The glorious bride and the great Son of man
From every tongue and tribe and nation
Will join in the song of the Lamb

Sing aloud for the time of rejoicing is near
(Sing aloud for the time of rejoicing is near)
The risen King, our groom, is soon to appear
(The risen King, our groom, is soon to appear)
The wedding feast to come is now near at hand
(The wedding feast to come is now near at hand)
Lift up your voice, proclaim the coming Lamb
(Lift up your voice, proclaim the coming Lamb)

London baby London!

this past 2 weeks have been gloriously grand and relaxing. i've been around London in a red double-decker bus, sailed on the River Thames under the London Bridge, jostled people in Harrods, strolled around Greenwich Village, went to a christmas concert in an old anglican church, attended a posh party in Oxford in sports shoes and jeans, sat down to a beautifully laid table and dined with millionaires who are marathon runners, pigged out on chocolates and put on loads of weight. ahhh...life.

i saw SHEEP whilst on the train! black-faced sheep, white-faced sheep, ponies, cows et cetera. so exciting to see sheep for the first time it is. indeed it is.

Tower of London. didn't get to go in. shucks. I sailed past Traitors' Gate on the River Thames though. note the name-dropping. heehee

Westminster Abbey. ooo ahh ooo ahh

You'd think Buckingham Palace would be impressive but i wasn't that impressed. I bet Queen E could build a more grandiose palace if she chooses. weird. got to see it by night too, and it was more romantic looking then, with all the street lights.

Trafalgar Square. loads of icky poo pigeons.

i did the touristy thing and hopped on a double decker tourist bus. costs 19quid. i didn't pay so oh wells! glee. Eaton Square, one of the poshest places in London, where all the celebs live. eg. Maggie Thatcher, Sean Connery, Mad Onna.....

my fav scene is Houses of Parliament, or else termed the Palace of Westminster. i got to see it all lit up by night too!

i love London. next stop....Paris! nyehehe
back to reality--> Salford. sighhhhh

ps. i didn't take the piccies. googled 'em. camera far too bulky. heeee.
