Keep away. Fierce animal loose.

blardy.! electricity just went off in our apartment. just ours!! grrrr..it should be ok since its 5.30pm and there SHOULD be sufficient light out, but noooo, days get dark by 5pm now. hence the turning back the clock by an hour. cheesed off, i am. just when i'm getting into the study groove with big plans...grrrrrrr. complained to the guard more than an hour ago, had to go to the guard becoz these lazy ang mohs don't work on weekends, and he said in a singsong voice, "Ooh, i'll come by in 20mins to see what I can do." Its been an hour and a half. Stoopid-lazy-will-be-an-ass forever oh lang. cheeeeeesed off i am! went to complain again just now, another guard took down my complaint because apparently the other fella didn't tell him anything! GROARRR! if i don't get my electricity back in 2 hours i'll run amok. i will.
the sky reminds me of the simpson's sky in the opening of every show.

it was a purrrfectt day today. the sun was shining a golden light everywhere, the sky was really blue, the trees were golden, red, orange...ahh, the joys of autumn. walked back from church today really slow to savour the scene. so marvellously serene. mmmph! if i had a large meadow atop a hill, i'd be twirling around in my bonnet and puffy skirt. oh yeah, and the clocks turned back an hour at 12am last night. good thing my aunt called to inform me else i'd be sitting in church looking like a doofus. anyhoo tried to take a few pictures but these are the only ones that do justice. 2 miserable ones..

eww! ah-yeer!

ang moh couples. they can be well and truly disgusting. making out while waiting for lifts, inside the lifts, in train stations, walking along the road, everywhere lah! so here i was, quietly minding my own business inside the lift in my hostel, when this ang moh couple come in and start making out behind me. the guy making weird noises and the fat, flabby girl giggling away. what am i supposed to do?? i turn away and pretend to fiddle with my handphone. thats when they make even more kissy, nibbling noises. ughhhh. vomit-inducing. thankfully the lift hits ground and i run. get to train station, buy ticket and quietly minding my own business again, i wait for the train. again another fat flabby porky couple come along and start making out behind me. why me?! these porky ang mohs! CIS betul!

paris when it sizzles

me is rethinking that paris trip. might not be such a fantastic idea after all. have exams right after christmas. sighssssss....exams always bite you in the backside. on the bright side though, would really love to see England during christmas. lights, bells, stars, glitters, roast lamb, baked potatoes, snow, hot chocolate, sitting by the fire ...mmmm....heheh.

Psalm of the day: Psalm 24. King of Glory!
1. The earth is the Lord's & everything in it,
the world and all who live in it.
2. for He founded it upon the seas & established it upon the waters.
3. Who may ascend the hill of Elohim?
Who may stand in His holy place?
4. He who has clean hands & a pure heart,
who does not lift his soul up to an idol, or swear by what is false.
5. He will receive blessing from Elohim
and vindication from God his Saviour.
6. Such is the generation of those who seek Him,
who seeks Your face, oh God of Jacob.
7.Lift up your heads, O you gates,
be lifted up you ancient doors,
that the King of Glory may come in.
8. Who is this King of Glory?
The LORD strong and mighty,
the LORD mighty in battle.
9. Lift up your heads, O you gates,
lift them up, you ancient doors,
that the King of Glory may come in.
10. Who is this King of Glory?
The LORD Almighty,
He is the King of Glory.

get your groove on

Today's church service was pretty hiphop and groovy. heheh. Speaker was Pastor Preston something-or-other from US. He's dubbed the "black albino". He's white but acts all black. He's got the hip and the hop attitude, the bling going, the oversized basketball t-shirt on, the shaved head, sneaker shoes, baggy pants..the works. Started off his sermon by making the audience jive to black hiphop music. We rapped, baby. Here's how it goes.

"Do ya know whad i mean?"
"Yeah i know whatcha mean"
"Aww yeah"
"'cuz thats how i roll." *cue gangsta hand gestures*
u can't really imagine it without seeing the real thing though.

was amusing myself imagining church service like so in penang. elders hand pumping and going " Aww yeah rolll baby!". eheheheh......

been reading Emma, by Jane Austen in my spare time. loveee it.

"I have very little to say for my own conduct.--I was tempted by his attentions, and allowed myself to appear pleased.-- An old story, probably--a common case--and no more than has happened to hundreds of my sex before; and yet it may not be the more excusable in one who sets up as I do for Understanding. Many circumstances assisted the temptation. He was the son of Mr. Weston--he was continually here--I always found him very pleasant--and, in short, for (with a sigh) let me swell out the causes ever so ingeniously, they all centre in this at last--my vanity was flattered, and I allowed his attentions. Latterly, however--for some time, indeed-- I have had no idea of their meaning any thing.--I thought them a habit, a trick, nothing that called for seriousness on my side. He has imposed on me, but he has not injured me. I have never been attached to him. And now I can tolerably comprehend his behaviour. He never wished to attach me. It was merely a blind to conceal his real situation with another.--It was his object to blind all about him; and no one, I am sure, could be more effectually blinded than myself--except that I was _not_ blinded--that it was my good fortune--that, in short, I was somehow or other safe from him."

boys ei. they never change. not even in Austen's time. unfortunately, no such good-looking boy here. semuanya roti putih. =(

Bev: Hey zoe, you want to go to France this december? Thierry( a chinese/french friend) asked the whole group of us to go PARIS and stay at his house.
Zoe: *eyes widen* and *screams in delight* PARIS!!
Bev: Yeah, paris!! I hope our parents say yes!
Zoe: Me tooooo!!!

Hoppity skippity diggity wham.! Must not get too excited. Simply musn't.
Saving a bomb on accommodation if i do go. Plus, Euro's exchange rate is lower than the Sterling. And did I mention we don't need a visa? I think so anyway coz thats what thierry says. I hope he's right. parissssssssssss.
*chuckles to self*

*flicker* *flicker*

its quiet. too quiet. i wonder what my flatmates are doing. no hysterical laughter, no weird noises, no RnB music to assault my ears. alls silent on the western front. the doors which are normally open are closed. the corridor is dark. the lights are flickering. oklah, the lights are spoilt mah. so it flickers loh. but where are they? did they jump out the window? drank paraquat? i'm all aloneeeee.

Psalm 33

Sing joyfully to the Lord, you righteous;
It is fitting for the upright to praise Him,
2. Praise the Lord with the harp;
make music to Him on the ten-stringed lyre.
3. Sing to Him a new song;
play skillfully and shout for joy.
4. For the word of the Lord is right & true;
He is faithful in all He does.
5. The Lord loves righteousness & justice;
the earth is full of His unfailing love.
6. By the word of the Lord were the heavens made,
their starry hosts by the breath of His mouth.
7. He gathers the waters of the sea into jars;
He puts the deep into storehouses.
8. Let all the earth fear the Lord; let all the people of the world revere Him.

18. But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear Him,
on those whose hope is in His unfailing love,
19. To deliver them from death & keep them alive in famine.
20. We wait in hope for the Lord;
He is our help and our shield.
21. In Him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in His holy name.
22. May Your unfailing love rest upon us O Lord,
even as we put our hope in YOU.

night out

Nah, pictures. =)

TaiWu Restaurant off Oxford Street.

Angelica, Beverly and I.

Whatever soup this is. I don't even know. Food was alright, average. Still prefer my roadside coffee shop in Penang. Much more delicioso.

Spent a good 15mins trying to decide where to go. Everybody wanted to do different things! Some wanted to go clubbing, but I do not club. At all. I won't. *stubborn look*

So, we just walked around manchester, looking at the sights. Thats the wheel of manchester.

Printworks. A place where all the clubs and bars are situated at. Good for watching weirdos walking around. Some are geli though. Jijik.

Wherever this is. I don't know.

Inside Tiger Tiger pub/restaurant. We only went in coz it was free entry. We didn't drink anything except for 2 people. Haha..stingy! 5pounds on average for drinks! Think i'd spend that money? Mad ah!

We went back to the apartments afterward. Played cards and drank Bailey's. Its like cream and alcohol.creamy alcohol? I dunno.I drank some but not too much, mixed it with goat's milk. I'm a good girl! Is it not said, do not be drunk on wine or spirits, but be drunk in the spirit of the Lord?

"Thus, she set forth into the world, carrying a wealth of knowledge, yet not forgetting humility and brokenness. Carried on the wings of a dove, she sailed in tempests, unshaken. His voice, softly whispering, nourished her spirit. He provided her blessed company to share visions and dreams, and He looked upon them with pleasure and immense affection. Her spirit, child-like and dependent on Him, pleased His heart. She was content."

tour of manchester

today was nice! Due to some unforeseen circumstances, i was forced to skip class. Hee hee..really lah. unforeseen kay. anyhoo, bought a day-saver bus ticket and travelled around manchester city. didn't get down..just went round and round and round. Thing was, due to that unforeseen circumstance, i forgot to pack my trusty Crunchy breakfast bar and thus was faint with hunger in the bus. Really nauseated and faint. Tambahan pula, halfway through, this fat black woman wearing a shuttlecock came and sat in front of me. she reeked. she did. its true. like a rank piece of rag. like a smelly dog caught in a monsoon drain. i'm mean but its true.
manchester is not a pretty, quaint city like i hoped. nay. its okay but i love quaint towns. with cobbled walkways and horse-drawn carriages. ha ha. its pretty dirty in some areas, flashback to:penang.
anyway, got back..got invited to dinner with friends, blessed with loads of food. met new friends. went for walk with them. took pictures. (will post laters). got back to apartment. going to rest. then got invited for another walk with flatmate. okay, fine. have to socialise at some point right. so off we go again. another walk. shorter walk though.
feeling like a thoroughly walked poodle.

fourth, i have so much work.
but, well, i must make a choice. look beyond the beefs. eat the steak.

it is to his glory to overlook an offense."

Thankful for the weekend. I'll be going to a house in salford, where soft lovely beds abound and there is a telly! So tired out by the stress and frustrations of this week. Twas an interesting day today, having had to carry out exercises on each other, you know, hip flexions, extensions, adductions, abductions. don't you know?? anyway, lovely lovely. will be away for the weekend in a proper house with proper beds and proper bathrooms. YIPPEE!

that tuesday

*gerammmmm* i've got loads and loads of studying to do. and i've got 3 assignments. practical classes are nice but the tutors use such bergaya words, anatomical terms i haven't studied yet!! i don't like not knowing what they're talking about. the ang moh way of teaching is so different. too used to being spoon-fed already. hmm...anyway, the lecturers assure us, assure us, we'll all catch up as these few weeks are overwhelming. i hope so.! or else.. and the nitty-gritty things like not having a printer is getting to me. i have to print out my papers..those people don't give handouts.! what?! each paper costs 5p! which is 35sen. can die! why is the malaysian currency so low lah......
anyway, the good thing is, and this gives me comfort at night, most of the other students are looking glazed too. =D except for a few older ones who have had experience. must study must study! us two kiasu chinese have been pestering different lecturers this week..and..we got a free physio book each! heheh! the wonderful side of being kiasu.
anyways, this is our class photo, taken today. observe the number of older folks.i'm one of the youngest. ooh, and right in front, in black is our nice year manager, Stuart Porter. the nicest teacher ever. and he's written & editted books. not bad leh. your teacher got write or edit books before anot?! =P bangga!

"going to church often doesn't make you a christian, any more than going to mcdonalds makes you a hamburger." haha. heard it on IFBN radio.

Sonnet 116

This sonnet is still my favouritest sonnet ever.

Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O no! it is an ever-fixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wandering bark,
Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.
Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle's compass come:
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.
